Welcome to the Sieur Du Luth Opera Training Program Blog! There will be lots of fun things to see here as we follow the five week journey of 35 singers from all over North America as they sing, practice, study, rehearse, play, eat and all the other fun things aspiring opera singers do!
This is going to be a FULL summer! As you can see from the picture, we are mounting a full production of Don Giovanni. You can read more about the production on the Events Page. In addition to that, the singers will be performing all summer in a Song Recital, a Scenes Program, and Opera Gala with orchestra, a master class with Carol Vaness, weekly repertoire recitals and master classes with the program faculty and mock auditions with opera agent, Ken Benson and opera administrator, Greg Carpenter.
But that's not all! They will be immersed in classes on yoga, stage combat, Alexander technique, courtly dance, acting as well as coachings and voice lessons. And there will be an all day workshop on the business of singing with Cindy Sadler, opera singer and life coach.
I hope that this blog will be a fun chronicle of the experience of the singers during this busy summer. We have a company photographer/videographer who will be recording their experiences, their impressions, their fun. We'll get a picture, behind the scenes, of how all this operatic madness works!!
